VINTEX Decontamination Clay Bar
Restore that smooth-as-glass paint feel — safely and effectively.
If your paint feels rough or gritty after washing, it's contaminated. No amount of washing will remove bonded contaminants like industrial fallout, brake dust, tree sap, bird dropping residue, insect impacts, paint overspray, and asphalt pigments — but a clay bar will. The Vintex Decontamination Clay Bar lifts and removes these bonded contaminants safely, leaving your paint surface perfectly smooth and ready for waxing, polishing, or ceramic coating — without ever harming the clear coat.
Works on paint, glass, rubber, chrome, and headlights.
Why You'll Love It
Removes bonded surface contamination — Effectively lifts and removes contaminants that washing cannot touch, including industrial fallout, brake dust, tree sap, bird dropping residue, insect impacts, paint overspray, and asphalt pigments.
Does not damage the clear coat — Unlike aggressive decontamination methods, the Vintex Clay Bar removes contamination gently and safely, leaving the varnish and clear coat completely intact.
Leaves paint perfectly smooth — After claying, the paint surface returns to a silky-smooth, glass-like feel — the essential foundation for waxing, polishing, or applying any form of paint protection.
Works on multiple surfaces — Safe and effective on paint, glass, rubber, chrome, and headlights — a complete decontamination solution for the entire exterior.
Re-mouldable — The bar can be reshaped multiple times during use to expose a clean surface, maximising product usage and longevity.
Easy to use — Simple hand application with a lubricant, no machine required.
Available in two sizes — 50g and 100g.
How to Apply
- Wash the vehicle thoroughly and ensure the paint surface is cool before starting.
- Shape a small piece of the clay bar, leaving part of it between your index and ring fingers for better stability and control during use.
- Spray a small amount of clay lubricant onto the surface, working one area at a time — no larger than 40cm x 40cm.
- Using the shaped clay bar, make light horizontal movements across the lubricated surface until it feels smooth and free of contamination.
- Before the lubricant dries, wipe the area with a clean, dry microfibre towel until the paint feels smooth and renewed.
- Repeat across the entire vehicle until complete.
Important tips:
- If you notice contamination building up on the clay bar surface, rinse it in a container of clean water and continue.
- When the bar becomes heavily contaminated even after reshaping, discard that piece and use a fresh section — a heavily contaminated clay bar can scratch the paint.
- Always use a clay lubricant — never use the clay bar on a dry surface.
- Ideal to use before waxing or polishing for best results.
